We are delighted to share that we have been awarded funding by The National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund for You Matter Plus in Rushmoor and Test Valley.

You Matter Plus is a 6 month support offer for people aged 16 - 35, Whereas our original You Matter programme is a 14 week group work programme. These programmes encourage the development of skills and knowledge around Money, Housing, Life and Future.

You Matter Plus is this accredited course and offers 3 months of 1:1 mentoring. This means we can support young people into a group through working with a trusted adult, or support them post group work to take their next steps and utilise the connections they have made.

Wellbeing Together: A Day to Recharge

We spent a glorious day in The Hide building at Itchen Valley Country Park - our focus was taking time away from our usual routines to focus on wellbeing, connection and reflection. We were delighted to welcome Helen from The Little Calm Company, who provided the team with relaxing massages and introduced us to simple self-massage techniques. These are valuable skills that we can also share with young people to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.

Helen also led a calming meditation session, which proved to be particularly effective — several members of the team were so relaxed that they managed to fall asleep!

Alongside this, we enjoyed a woodland walk, spotted deer, and took part in a range of creative activities including wreath making, stone painting and beading. We also shared a delicious lunch and, importantly, plenty of laughter and time together.

The day provided a valuable opportunity to welcome the change of season and reflect on what we might need to let go of, as well as what we need more of to sustain us through the demands of our work and the winter months.

For the team, those things are connection, support and humour.

Taking time to look after ourselves and strengthen our connections as a team is an important part of being able to support others effectively. A very worthwhile day of reflection, creativity and wellbeing.
