"We have worked with YBR for the past three years to deliver MECC Healthy Conversation Skills training to a wide range of partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector.
Throughout this time, YBR has consistently provided excellent, high‑quality training that is grounded in real-life experiences and focused on practical application. Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many reporting meaningful changes to their practice as a result of adopting these new skills and approaches.
We highly recommend YBR as a training provider." - Sarah Stringer, Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB
"I’ve really enjoyed working with the YBRP team to deliver the MECC Healthy Conversation Skills workshops. YBRP are consistently professional, friendly and passionate, and bring a strong values‑led approach to their work with young people. The sessions are well organised, engaging and delivered with genuine care, which makes them impactful for both participants and the communities they serve."

Making every contact count: The details
Yellow Brick Road Projects regularly presents online and in person training sessions known as Making Every Contact Count - Healthy Conversation Skills (commonly abbreviated to MECC). MECC is a behavioural change method which enables individuals to use an alternative approach when working with people to address their health and wellbeing. It is about altering the way we interact with others to improve their self-efficacy, therefore helping them identify ways to improve their wellbeing. This course is accredited, and regulated by the NHS and Public Health England.
The training we offer is presented either online or in person via a 3-hour interactive session in which you will discover:
• How you can support someone to explore their own health and wellbeing
• How using more effective responses can help people find their own solutions
• How you can support someone to think about their own behaviour change plan
This practical skills development training is primarily for front line workforces who have the opportunity to support others health and well-being. The course has been delivered to a huge range of clients including: doctors, nurses, AHPs, housing, libraries, job centres, social care, teachers, and many more. The training is highly participatory and draws on trainees own experiences and beliefs. Each session is tailored to the trainees individual needs and helps facilitate the identification of opportunities in their own roles to use these acquired skills.
