Legacy Plus
"Finding Inspiration at every Turn"
When You Matter and The Legacy Projects eyes met across a crowded room, they realised that there was a gap. A need by young people for extended support; a trusted adult who would walk alongside them for up to 6 months, provide mentoring and access to accredited learning, supporting a growth in confidence, life skills and community connection. And then came Legacy Plus.
Legacy Plus is now live in Basingstoke, Rushmoor, Test Valley, and Winchester. Following the success of The Legacy Project, something we have learnt is that young people often need support for longer, and at times which suit them. Using our own experience, and research from the Youth Endowment Fund, we have developed Legacy Plus for young people aged 12 – 25.
This programme will allow access to 12 weeks of individual Mentoring and 12 weeks of group work, with You Matter and You Matter In School as potential avenues for this group work support. The Legacy Plus experience will be shaped and lead by the young person using Outcome Star Home Star to create an action plan.
