What Happens on the Legacy Project?

Please note, we have temporarily halted nominations for the Legacy Project in Test Valley as we have already reached full capacity. Other areas are still open for nominations as normal. We will announce when Test Valley Nominations reopen, both here, and on social media.

The Legacy Project is an initiative which has been set up to work closely with young people who are in need of guidance. This can include being at risk of criminal exploitation, exclusion, or just needing extra support to find their potential seam of Gold. The programme operates for 11-18 year olds in the following areas, Test Valley, Rushmoor, and Winchester.

The programme gives young people the tools to reduce risks and improve their wellbeing through Individual Mentoring. This structure is designed to be flexible so we can provide support and advice on matters that are most important to your needs. There are up to 13 weekly sessions, each being an hour in duration. These take place in person and occur in either schools or community settings. The first session is where we will get to know you through your strengths, hopes, and fears. We take great care in this process as matching the young person with the right mentor allows for mutual respect and an understanding relationship.

The following sessions will then be based around this partnership and will shape our path forward, all with the goal of putting sustainable future plans in place.

If you would like to get involved you can either: be nominated through an organisation, fill in our form in yourself, or come along to a taster session.

Nominations are processed through a form on the ’Nominations‘ page of this website. A button taking you to here can be found below this text. For more details on the programme and how to get involved, do get in contact with us.

We also warmly welcome any volunteers that are passionate about working with young people to help contribute to the running of the project. For more details on either this, or the programme, do get in contact.
